If you want to wrap your arms around an affordable semi-acoustic but a full-size ES-335 is just too big, you'll probably find this Epiphone ES-339 thinline hollow-body a much more manageable option. Part of the Inspired by Gibson ES Collection, this model boasts the snug playability of an electric solid-body but has the full warmth and character of a hollow-body guitar.
The Inspired By Gibson ES-339 Semi-Acoustic: Epiphone Style
The electronics section of the slimmed down ES-339 has been loaded with genuine CTS pots which combine with a pair of Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers to conjure an array of tonal colours, while a set of Grover machine heads has been teamed up with a Graptech NuBone nut and Epiphone's own LockTone bridge and tailpiece to support pure intonation and stable tuning. Topped with the classic charm of a Kalamazoo headstock, this instrument bears distinct Epiphone style.

Ik had nog geen hollow body. Had diverse positieve reviews gezien op YouTube. Besteld dan maar. Wat een gave gitaar..... Ik had al een Gibson en een Fender solidbody en zie weinig kwaliteitsverschil. Het geluid is zeer goed benoemen en de intonatie was ook perfect. Heb maar één bezwaar; er zitten 0.10 Gibson snaren op ik prefereer de 0.09 die "benden" net iets gemakkelijker. Deze zet ik nog even om. Prachtige gitaar tegen m.i. lage prijs.

Mijn eerste elektrische gitaar. Echt een prachtige gitaar met een hele mooie sound. Eindeloze mogelijkheden en ook akoestisch bespeeld geeft hij nog verrassend veel geluid. De kwaliteit is bij Epiphone eigenlijk altijd erg goed!

Een prachtige gitaar die echt uitnodigt om te gaan spelen en steeds meer te leren. Ik ben nog een beginnende speler, maar ik ben er zeker van dat ik snel leer op deze gitaar. Ik had nog enigszins moeite met de setup van de gitaar, maar na het kijken van wat filmpjes ging dat ook gemakkelijk. Al met al zeker aan te raden!

De elektronica is matig en lastig af te stellen, weinig helderheid. De top frets na enkele maanden al slijtage, dat had ik niet verwacht van een Epiphone es 339. Deze gitaar valt toch wat tegen. Helaas was de firma Bax 3 maanden wegens verhuizing gesloten en onbereikbaar in Amsterdam en ook per telefoon geen contact. De nieuwe zaak in Amsterdam ( sinds 1 April ) is voor mij moeilijk bereikbaar.
